Rehabilitation Programs

Our rehabilitation services offer Speech Language Pathology, Physical and Occupational Therapy. Through a team approach, our goal is to meet the needs of inpatients and outpatients at Carteret General Hospital and to restore the patient’s level of independence and quality of life.

All of our physical therapists are licensed professionals specially trained in musculoskeletal dysfunction. We strive to improve function, prevent disability following a disease or surgical process, injury, wound or amputation using customized exercise programs, manual therapy techniques, ultrasound, electric stimulation, massage and a variety of wound care techniques.

Our licensed occupational therapists are trained to observe activities of daily living, assisting persons in their home and work environments, using and providing adaptive techniques or devices helping individuals remain as independent as possible. With their specialized knowledge of the upper extremity, the occupational therapists offer modalities, range of motion, exercises and the saebo-flex, which help patients regain functional use of their upper extremities.

The Speech language Pathologist accesses communication deficits and swallowing disorders related to problems resulting from strokes, accidents and progressive diseases. Videofluroscopic evaluation of swallowing is also offered at Carteret General Hospital.

As your partner in health, we strive to provide high-quality healthcare services to our community.
