CGH Specialty Clinic
The CGH Specialty Clinic located at 3601 Bridges Street, Suite H, provides medical consulting services not available in Carteret County several years ago. While our population cannot support the physician specialties full-time, the Specialty Clinic provides clinic space for physicians to alternate seeing patients five days a week. Patients take advantage of these services without having to travel long distances.
Neurology. The Neurologists treat individuals who have various nervous system disorders including stroke, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, muscle disorders, headache, neuropathies, sleep disorders and cerebral palsy. Electromyelograms and nerve conduction studies are also provided.
Nephrology. The Nephrologist treats individuals with kidney diseases which include diagnostic studies, medication, iron infusions. The same Nephrologists operate an outpatient dialysis center in McKinsey Square on Bridges Street.
Pulmonology. The Pulmonologist evaluate patients with respiratory diseases and prescribe treatment. They also work closely with our local physicians to manage acutely ill patients in the hospital's critical care unit.
Neurosurgery. The Neurosurgeon evaluates individuals with neurosurgical and spine disorders. If patients require surgery they are referred to Eastern Neurosurgical and Spine Associates in Greenville. Individuals are then able to receive follow-up care in the CGH Specialty Clinic after surgery.
All physicians who participate in the Specialty Clinic work closely with local physicians caring for patients admitted to the hospital. This collaboration provides an exceptional level of care for our patients.
